Reracking of "Table Mountain" - 2021/03/28

It was a pretty easy day, all we did was move "Table Mountain" from the fermenter that it was in to a new one. We did talk about other things that we wanted to do. Berg wants to try and make a brew using CBD, Shas wants to do a Shiraz wine as well as another cider. We're all waiting to try some of the meads that we got in the pipeline as well as the ones we just bottled. For now we'll have to be content with "Fond Memories" and "Gone Rogue".

Bottling Day- 2021/03/14

Today was a busy day, we bottled 3 different brews. The first was the full moon stout, "Gone Rogue". We bottled that at the secondary site. After we finished we cleaned up the fermenter and other equipment and then headed over to the primary brewery. There we bottled "I Don't Even Like Pineapple" and the Singha clone "Fond Memories".

Full Moon Stout - 2021/02/28

Shas just had to brew something so she took a look at the local brewing supply store and saw a Full Moon Cream Stout. As it was a full moon the night that she saw the recipe that is what she went with. This time we did the brewing over our place instead of at Berg's. Another thing Berg doesn't like are stouts but seeing as we did his pineapple mead he was up for a stout.

Pineapples & Beer - 2021/02/21

Today we brewed a beer and a mead. The beer is a clone of a Thai beer called Singha that Shas and I had quite a lot of on our honey moon in Thailand. The mead is a recipe that Berg came up with and just had to try. It consists of nothing but pineapples, honey and yeast. Berg doesn't even like pineapple, but he just had to do this recipe. So we turned on the tunes and got to work. First thing to do was skin an slice up the pineapples, all 11 of them. This went into the juicer. While that was going on the grains for the beer where milled and placed in a muslin sack, and the water was brought up to temp. We spent the afternoon moving back and forth between the brews.

Bottled Cara-Cara - 2021/01/28

We recently bottled our variation of a Belgian Wheat ale, in the style of a Blue Moon. The difference being, we used some Cara-Cara oranges that were dehydrated in house. Berg had been wanting to do this beer for about a year. Shas was looking for the next thing to brew, thinking about a wine or a mead. That's when I suggested doing something with a shorter leadtime, a beer maybe. Berg remembered the dehydrated oranges that he had and said, "how about a Blue Moon style beer using my oranges as part of the recipe?" It sounded like a great idea, so we bought the ingredients and fired up the kettle.
